Founded in 2010, by communications specialist, Ian Davidson, IDC is a Cape Town-based communications and digital transformation consultancy with a global footprint.

Over the years, IDC has assembled an experienced team of partners and associates, who together cover UX and UI design, business analysis, software development, brand, media and digital communications strategy and implementation, stakeholder engagement and IoT integration.

In addition, IDC also has a suite of purpose-built solutions to address business modelling, e-learning and digital asset management requirements.

Ian Davidson

IDC

Ian is a communications specialist with a background (30+ years) in Financial PR, Above- and Below-the-Line Advertising, Brand Development and Digital Communications. He has worked with a number of reputable agencies, in senior positions, including Ogilvy & Mather, Lintas Worldwide and Publicis.

In 2002 he joined a digital agency as CEO, which he helped grow into a successful, pioneering, award winning business and since then he has been actively involved in digital communications and transformation.

Ian has worked with a wide range of clients, both in South Africa and abroad, across a number of sectors including FMCG, Financial, Hospitality, Education, Tourism, Property, Fishing, Automotive, Govt., Professional Services and NGOs.

Given his extensive communications  experience and deep interest in Climate Change, sustainability, innovation and technology, Ian is well placed to spearhead any project, campaign or initiative to help a business or organisation make sense of the world around them and how to move forward.

Graeme Stiles

Algorithm

Graeme Stiles is the founder of Algorithm Agency, a specialist data & performance agency. Graeme is obsessed with process and automation, using data to drive decision making. With experience in data, analysis & digital marketing, he’s able to identify opportunities to develop tools & technology to help brands get a real edge on their competition. Graeme has the ability to smash data sources together to make a clear picture of what a business and marketing strategy should be, not based on creativity or instinct but on solid facts.

Richard Vowles

IDC

Richard Vowles spent his formative years with Unilever’s Liptons and Elida Ponds before joining The White House. He went on to become a founder member and managing partner of The Engine Room. Richard’s brand experience includes client and agency sides of the desk, with signature clients Old Mutual, Momentum, Liquifruit, Energade, Nestle, Alpha Cement, BP Express, Engen and Distell. Developing strategies into compelling narratives are passions that keep him wired and excited. The author of two corporate histories and his own novel, Richard is happiest whilst strategizing, conceptualising, writing or 4 x 4 adventuring with his family into Africa.

Simon Lloyd

Algorithm

Simon Lloyd, is the Chief Commercial Office of our specialist partners Algorithm. Simon is a true digital veteran with over 28 years of experience in a variety of technology & digital sectors. He started in the music industry, before moving into data & e-commerce positions in verticals from leisure & tourism, finance & investments, retail & technology. He learned his trade in the United Kingdom, before spotting an opportunity for a data & automation led agency in South Africa. Where he worked with co-founder Graeme Stiles to build the data & digital performance business that is Algorithm.

Erica Kleine

IDC

Erica started her career as an advertising copywriter, and has since gained extensive experience as a communications practitioner, strategic consultant, project manager and entrepreneur. Her work spans a wide cross-section of sectors and industries, and a large variety of media – from print to digital.

With 25+ years of communications, writing, marketing, eventing (specifically lifestyle/wellbeing events), project management and consulting experience behind her, Erica is passionate about creating innovative, holistic, strategically, socially and environmentally sound solutions for her clients.

The importance of pursuing inner – or personal – transformation, which can then facilitate wider social and environmental transformation, is one of Erica’s core philosophies. Her main aims in life are to thrive, and inspire others to thrive by discovering healthier, more fulfilled and authentic ways of living, being and doing. She lives by the maxim: “Creativity is intelligence having fun.”

In practice this means collaborating closely with clients in their process of becoming ever more conscious and aligned, using her communication skills to help them imagine the amazing possibilities inherent in their lives and projects.
